
Ashton Turner
Ashton is a versatile vocalist, pianist, composer and musical director with a passion for elevating young performers. Holding a Bachelor of Music (Voice) with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts (Linguistics & Theatre) from Monash University, she has also honed her craft internationally at Prato, Italy and New York University.
Her extensive Music Direction credits span professional and independent theatre, including Life in Plastic, Arts Centre Melbourne’s Morning Melodies, In the Heights, The Drowsy Chaperone, Parade, Heathers, Mr Burns, Urinetown, Mamma Mia!, and Swingin’.
Ashton is also a celebrated writer and composer, with two original works to her name — most recently Former Gifted Child, which premiered at Theatre Works for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Alongside her creative practice, Ashton is a dedicated educator and voice pedagogue, committed to evidence-based, student-centred vocal training. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Bachelor of Music at JMC Academy Melbourne and continues to mentor emerging artists across tertiary institutions and private coaching.
