
Mathew Frank
Mathew is an award-winning composer, sound designer and musical director whose distinguished theatre career spans major productions with companies like MTC and STC. His credits include My Brilliant Career, Fun Home, Lady in the Van, An Ideal Husband, Skylight, Private Lives, The Drowsy Chaperone, Next to Normal, Well… That Happened, and for STC — Hubris & Humiliation. He met his creative partner at WAAPA, and their first musical, Prodigal, that went on to an off-Broadway season. Since then they’ve created Once We Lived Here Virgins: A Musical Threesome, The Silver Donkey, and contributed songs to tv show Mr & Mrs Murder.
Mathew has also composed the score for the short film Rhyme Time and created bespoke theatre-cabaret works such as Show People and Britney Spears: The Cabaret. As a musical director, his credits include A Funny Thing Happened…, Jerry’s Girls, La Cage Aux Folles, and Pirates of Penzance.
In addition to his creative work, Mathew serves as Head of Music for Showfit, a Melbourne performing arts program, bringing his expert musical leadership and artistic vision to their programs.
