
Mike McLeish
Mike is a celebrated Australian performer and creative whose career spans theatre, television, writing and music. He first gained national attention in Casey Bennetto’s Keating! The Musical, and has since appeared in major productions including Shane Warne The Musical, Georgy Girl: The Seekers Musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and David Bowie’s Lazarus. He has also toured internationally with the acclaimed improvisation troupe Spontaneous Broadway, as well as performing his own original cabaret works across Australia.
On screen, Mike has featured in some of the country’s most loved television series, including Offspring, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Bed of Roses, Wentworth, Mustangs FC, and a recurring role over four seasons of the ABC’s hit satire Utopia. Behind the camera, his work spans story consulting, songwriting, composition and dramaturgy, along with a successful career as a voice artist.
Together with his wife and collaborator Fiona Harris, Mike has co-written two published novels (The Drop-off and The Pick-up) based on their multi-award winning web series The Drop Off, later broadcast as a telemovie on Channel 9.
Alongside his performance career, Mike has held key creative leadership roles including Artistic Director of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Head Scriptwriter for the Helpmann Awards, and Director of Creative Development for Michael Cassel Group — bringing a wealth of industry experience to the young artists he mentors.
